Deadline
draws near for natural gas marketing selection by
customers As the Aug.11 deadline draws near, Atlanta Gas Light Company is leaving no stone unturned in its drive to ensure the transition of 400,000 customers to natural gas marketers goes smoothly. A newly created team from Atlanta Gas Light is charged with meeting the most active marketers before Aug.11 to help pinpoint and resolve any random assignment and customer service issues that could occur during the transition. The formation of the team is just one in a series of actions Atlanta Gas Light has taken to ensure marketers are prepared for random assignment and life after deregulation. The company also has held three four-hour training sessions with natural gas marketers and the Public Service Commission to review the random assignment process. Natural gas deregulation affects Atlanta Gas Light's nearly 1.5 million customers in Georgia. Current Atlanta Gas Light customers must select a new natural gas marketer by Aug. 11 to avoid having one assigned to them by the Georgia Public Service Commission. oooø/ |
