Harris
Teeter expected to revitalize shopping center, says memo A memo sent to Peachtree Crossing shopping center tenants in Peachtree City from a property management company is urging retailers to consider expanding and upscaling their businesses. The reason for the memo is the opening of a new Harris Teeter grocery store in the shopping center early next year. With the Harris Teeter reputation for customer service and quality foods and with the advertising program they have designed for this store, it is clear that Peachtree Crossing will experience a rapid growth in customer visits, wrote William Hooper, with Peachtree Crossing Associates. Hooper claims the store will draw residents from across the Southside, since it will be the only Harris Teeter located on this side of town. Hooper goes on to write that people who shop at Harris Teeter are generally in the middle and upper income bracket, and generally make large purchases, since they come from as far as 30 miles from the store. Officials said the A & P store would be remodeled, but Hooper explains the actual process will create a virtually new store. It will be an entirely new store with only the structural steel and the roof being retained from the original building. The front of the store will feature lots of glass, high ceilings and multiple archways and is designed to be particularly attractive at night, Hooper said. In order to capitalize on the new store that will anchor the shopping center, Hooper urges retailers to ...remodel your store, seek out new suppliers, obtain and install new fixtures, train additional personnel, plan an expanded advertising program and make any necessary changes to get the maximum sales potential from every square foot of retail space. The demolition of the A & P store is expected to start early this month. |
