Tuesday night, Aug. 3 from 5-7 p.m., the Fayetteville Police and Fire departments will be in the parking lot of the Kroger at Towne Center hosting National Night Out.

The night offers citizens a chance to see what both agencies offer for protection services. Last year, there were demonstrations from the K-9 unit as well as from the Fire Department on how the jaws of life are used. There are pamphlets and tours of the vehicles given. Last year, there was a blood drive and fingerprinting.

There will be refreshments and giveaways at National Night Out, but mostly it just gives the public a chance to meet the people that work for them every day of the year. The Kroger at Towne Center is across from GTO's, south of the city on Ga. Highway 85.
