Scots are fiddling in Newnan tonight

By CAROLYN CARY
Contributing Writer

Eighty-two band students and 10 adults from Scotland and the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra have just arrived in the south metro area.

They will be presenting concerts in Newnan tonight at 7 in the Wadsworth Auditorium.

The orchestra has been on the road in both Canada and the United States for 17 days.

The Mike Maxwell family in Fayetteville are housing two violinists, Rachel Stafford, 18, and Leure Trimble, 18.

They have been playing the violin for 11 years and 10 years respectively.

They said that the general weather in Scotland is cool and all swimming pools are indoors. Consequently, they are looking forward to swimming in an outdoor pool. They have already visited The World of Coke, stopped in to see the governor's office, attended a barbecue and will get in a visit to Six Flags and shopping malls before they leave.

The company consists of band members, singers and dancers.
