Epps
completes Orthodox liturgy course Father David Epps of Sharpsburg, Rector of Christ the King Church in Peachtree City, recently completed a course in History of Christian Liturgy from St. Athanasius Academy of Orthodox Theology, an Eastern Orthodox School. The 60-hour course covered such subjects as Liturgy and the Bible (Old and New Testaments), Scriptural Foreshadowing of Christian Worship, Early Examples of Liturgy, Centrality of the Eucharist, Liturgy and the Eucharistic Action, Performing and doing the Liturgy, History of the Synaxis, and History of the Eucharist. This was a detailed and extremely informative course, Epps said. Most people in our area do not realize that the Church of the Apostles was a liturgical and sacramental church. I received a much greater appreciation of the meaning of what we still do 2,000 years later. Christ the King Church meets each Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Carmichael-Hemperley building on Hwy. 74 in Peachtree City.
