World Class author will be featured at St Paul's Lutheran school expansion dedication Aug. 15

Dr. Paul L. Maier, frequent expert on the Arts and Entertainment network's “Mysteries of the Bible” series, renowned professor of ancient history, and author of more than 200 books and scholarly articles, will be the featured speaker at the dedication of St. Paul Lutheran's expanded school facilities, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 15.

Dr. Maier is presently professor of ancient history at Western Michigan University and serves as campus chaplain to Lutheran students. He is the author of “A Skeleton in God's Closet,” a national best seller in the category of religious fiction.

Dr. Maier will preach at the 9:30 a.m. worship service and will conduct a seminar entitled “Jesus of Nazareth: What Else Do We Know?” beginning at 3 p.m. A banquet will follow at 6 p.m.

The worship and seminar are free, but tickets for the banquet are $7 for adults and $3 for children under 10, purchased in advance from the church office. Tickets will be sent by return mail. Those purchasing banquet tickets before Aug. 1 will be automatically registered to win one of ten personally autographed copies of Dr. Maier's book, “Pontius Pilate.”

Copies of his other books will be on sale throughout the day and he will autograph them after worship and at the seminar.

Three new teachers for the expanding school will be installed during the morning worship service.
