New school dress code not only unfair, but ineffective

I realize you've probably gotten quite a bit of these letters arguing the proposed dress code one way or the other; but I would just like to share my opinion with you. It's my belief, along with many of my friends, that the proposed dress code would be not only unfair, but ineffective.

First of all, the sleeveless shirts girls wear have too much variation. Some sleeveless shirts are quite tasteful and appropriate in my opinion, while others are... well... not. But it's not fair to the appropriate ones to have to suffer for the inappropriate.

Secondly, the rule that shirts must be tucked in is a little far fetched. With all due respect, some shirts just aren't made to be tucked in. And if I may get a little extreme, it's easier to hide a weapon or other item with a tucked-in shirt.

Many people do not think this new dress code is fair at all. Why should good, honorable people have to suffer for the few that do break the rules? In my opinion, if we want to stop school violence, we need a different approach. Making people tuck in their shirts isn't going to solve much of anything.
