Elaine Terese Ackaadom of College Park was charged Friday with forgery in the first degree, theft by receiving stolen property, financial transaction card theft, and improper use of a driver's license.
Police said she forged a check for $91.06 in an April 8 incident at Wal-Mart, using the name Raquel Robinson. She also was found in possession of 13 other checks in Robinson's name, as well as Robinson's NationsBank VISA check card and driver's license, which she displayed as her own, police said.

Aaron Nicholas Whitehead of Jonesboro was charged Friday with 11 counts of forgery in the first degree after an alleged check-cashing spree in April.
Using checks belonging to Mike H. Franklin, Whitehead allegedly passed five at Wal-Mart and five at T & G Allsports, plus one at Wings, Etc., between April 5 and April 16. A total of more than $1,200 in merchandise was purchased, according to court records.

James Allen Nelson of Jonesboro was charged Friday with seven traffic offenses:
Habitual violator, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving with an unlawful blood alcohol level, driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering a child while driving under the influence of alcohol (two counts), and violation of a limited probationary license.

He was picked up last Nov. 15 for driving on the left side of Ga. Highway 54, according to reports. He was found to have a blood alcohol level above 0.10 grams, and he was carrying two children under 14 in the car with him, police said.

Kelly Shawn Brown of Fayetteville was charged Friday with violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act for allegedly trying to sell cocaine in October last year.

Frederick Todd Evans Jr. of Newnan was charged Thursday with theft by taking (motor vehicle), six counts of entering an auto, violation of duty upon striking a fixture, and driving in violation of license restrictions.
He allegedly took a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria belonging to the Clayton County government and broke into six other vehicles with intent to steal, according to court records. He also failed to notify a Fayetteville homeowner after hitting his mailbox, and was driving with a license that requires him to have a licensed driver over 18 in the car with him, police said.

Charlie Lewis Williams of Atlanta was charged July 21 with five counts of forgery in the first degree.
Police said he wrote nearly $1,000 in checks last August at Home Depot, Publix, Target and Office Depot, drawn on the accounts of Claudia and Chris Hames.

Adam Lawrence Lassetter of Sharpsburg was charged July 21 with two counts of financial transaction card fraud after allegedly taking a Southern Federal Credit Union debit card belonging to Tasha Hartsfield and attempting to use it.

Robert Earl Holcomb of Atlanta was charged July 19 with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license, failure to show proof of insurance and no headlights. These charges stem from a traffic stop in 1997, according court records.

Bernice Maynard of Senoia was charged July 19 with forgery in the first degree and theft by receiving stolen property after allegedly writing a check to herself on the NationsBank account of Combined Medical Center P.C. last August.

Nicole Barry and Clinton Jeremiah Isles of Riverdale were charged July 19 with theft by shoplifting after allegedly attempting to take a number of items from Marshall's department store in May, including shirts, shoes, perfume, cologne, sunglasses, a belt, a sweater, a purse, and a pair of ladies' underwear.

Tony Terrell Collins of Jonesboro was charged July 19 with being a habitual violator after a traffic stop in April.

Elijah Maurice Rouse of Rex was charged July 19 with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, as well as possession of two valid driver's licenses, in connection with an incident in April of last year.

Renee R. Ramsey of Jonesboro was charged July 19 with deposit account fraud for writing a bad check to Wal-Mart just before Christmas, according to court records.

Robert Edwin Cowart of Jonesboro was charged July 19 with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain his lane and defective equipment.
He was stopped March 11 on Ga. Highway 85 because his tag light was not working and he was not keeping his vehicle in a single lane, police said. The other charges also stem from that stop, according to court records.
