Speed Racer, go! By MICHAEL BOYLAN If you like many forms of auto racing, the Automationdirect.com Trans Am 100 is for you. The race will be at Road Atlanta and promises a weekend full of SCCA Pro Racing excitement. The racing begins Friday with practice rounds and qualifying for the U.S. Formula 2000 race and the ACRL race. Qualifying continues Saturday with the first race, the Spec Racer Pro Race, beginning at 11:15 a.m. That race will be followed by the Speedvision World Challenge GT Race at 12:45 p.m., a Speedvision World Challenge Touring Race at 2:45 p.m., and the first U.S. Formula 2000 race at 4 p.m. The American City Racing League race closes out the day. That race will begin at 5:15 p.m. Sunday will play host to the second Spec racer pro race at 9 a.m. There will be a Trans Am 100 autograph session at 11 a.m., followed by the second U.S. Formula 2000 race at noon. The Automationdirect.com Trans Am 100 gets the green flag at 1:30 p.m. and will be followed by the second Speedvision World Challenge GT Race at 3:15 p.m. General admission to this weekend's races is $40 but the Weekend Superticket is $50. If you would just like to attend Sunday, the superticket is $40, while the general admission ticket is $30. Tickets for children under 12 are free and a ticket upgrade that allows paddock admission is $15.
