You've probably seen some new things at DixieLand Amusement Park if you've driven past it this summer.
A bewitching cinematic experience
In 1994, three student filmmakers entered the woods in Burkittsville, Md. to make a film about the legend of the Blair Witch. A year later, their footage was found.
 
Seniors get a history lesson on Fayette County
The Fayette County Recreation Department plans a tour each month for senior citizens in the county. Last week it offered a historical bus tour of Fayette county and 34 interested persons participated.
 
Breakfast for contractors and public at Home Depot
Each Tuesday 8-10 a.m. The Home Depot store in Fayetteville hosts a contractor breakfast.
 
Offshoot presents special Matinee on Thursday
In addition to its regular weekend performances, Offshoot Productions is presenting a special matinee of its lively audience participation play, “Cinderella,Cinderella” at 10 a.m. on Thursday, july 22 at McIntosh High School. Large groups can be accommodated at this time, as well as individuals and families. Tickets are available in advance for large groups and at the door for individual purchase.
 
Women authors' works sought
River's Edge Publishing Company, Georgia Branch, is seeking submissions from Georgia women for the second in its “Women Speak” series of anthologies.
