Secretary of State Cathy Cox has announced that her office has posted candidate and political action committee disclosure reports on the agency's web site.

Nearly 4,000 reports filed by state and statewide candidates and PACs during the 1998 election cycle may be retrieved, viewed and printed by visiting the agency's site at www.sos.state.ga.us http://www.sos.state.ga.us .

The reports, formerly accessible only by visiting the elections division offices in downtown Atlanta or by ordering them (for a copying fee) by mail, provide a detailed listing of contributions and expenditures of PACs and candidates for statewide office, the General Assembly and statewide judicial posts.

“For the future, our goal is complete electronic compilation and distribution of all the contribution information for candidates and PACs,” said Cox.

The reports have been scanned into Adobe Acrobat files. Users must have Acrobat Reader on their computers, available for free download from Adobe.
