Three men were handed down prison sentences Friday in Fayette Superior Court after entering guilty pleas in separate cases.

Juarez Dru Claytor pled guilty to two counts of forgery in the first degree, two counts of forgery in the second degree, and one misdemeanor count of giving a false name.

According to prosecutors, he was arrested April 18 at the Publix supermarket in Fayetteville after attempting to pass a bad check using the name of Harry Perkins. He had a false identification card with his own photograph and Perkins' name on it.

Also found in his possession were checks in the same name made out to Office Depot.

Claytor was sentenced by Judge Johnnie Caldwell to five years on each first-degree forgery count and two years to serve on each second-degree count. He got 12 months for the misdemeanor charge. All sentences will run concurrently.

Edward Harold Losey pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving with a suspended driver's license. He was picked up last year on a traffic violation and a gun was found in his car.

Losey received five years on the firearm charge and 12 months, to run concurrently, on the driver's license charge.

Leonard Ray Nash pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine in relation to a May 11 arrest at the Waffle House in Fayetteville. He was initially picked up due to an outstanding warrant from another county.

Nash was sentenced to five years, with three years to serve, and must undergo drug counseling while on probation.
