Real Mexican Style

With the tremendous population explosion in the Atlanta region in the last decade, the proliferation of ethnic restaurants has started giving the region an urban feel.

One of the biggest movers to the metro area has been Mexicans and new Mexican restaurants are sprouting up on an almost daily basis.

The newest restaurant to sprout wings in Fayette County is Los Toribio in the Fayetteville Town Center on south Ga. Highway 85.

The interior of the restaurant feels like Mexico. Bright colors and a cute fountain with splashing water give the feel of a Mexican plaza. The walls between booths are high enough to provide a sense of privacy, but still allow you a feeling of open space.

I was amazed at how quickly the food arrived. It was served piping hot. Be careful you don't fill up on the warm tortilla chips and salsa before your meal arrives, though.

The menu features the traditional Mexican food we expect such as tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas and fajitas.

For dessert, the restaurant offers flan and fried ice cream that can cure even the most ferocious sweet tooth.

Los Toribio's servers are friendly and the atmosphere is warm. Head there quick for a slice of old Mexico.
