Jaguars
finish season a perfect 16-0 By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
It is extremely rare for a young team to go undefeated during a season of any recreational sport. When the sport is softball, which requires strength, speed, and skill, it is even more impressive. The Jaguars, an Under 8 girls team from Peachtree City, went undefeated this past season, finishing with an unblemished record of 16-0. After racking up a number of wins during the season, the Jaguars then faced their stiffest competition again in the Under 8 End of the Season Tournament. In the first game, the Jaguars faced the Panthers and defeated them by a score of 22-4. Things only got tougher for them, however. The Jaguars faced the Rage in the second game of the tournament and barely edged them out, winning by a score of 15-14. The tournament championship was the crowning achievement for the Jaguars. Trailing the --- in the bottom of the last inning, the Jaguars came from behind and won by a score of 21-20. The Jaguars coaches, Marsha Stephens and Darren Fitzwater, described the championship game as a heart stopper. Congratulations to the Jags and good luck next season.
