More than 120 of Newnan's most wanted citizens will be locked up by Regions Bank to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association next Thursday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. These jailbirds will be picked up from various businesses throughout the day and taken to jail at the Coweta County Chamber of Commerce. Jailbirds can look forward to having their mug shots taken, dining on bread and water and raising as much bail as they can for the MDA. Many local companies have donated their time and their services to help the jailbirds reach their bail, which has been set at $1,200. Refreshments will be provided by Smoothie King, Einstein Brothers, Publix, Kroger and Domino's Pizza. Last year, 50 jailbirds raised more than $22,000 to assist local children and adults with muscular dystrophy by donating their time to go to jail for the MDA. This year, the MDA hopes to raise more money to help area families. The funds raised will ensure the continued broad range of programs and services for families in coweta County that are affected by neuromuscular diseases.
