CCSU putting
registration, tuition, book buying on line Clayton
College & State University is trying to
reduce the bane of students' existence
standing in line for registration.
As the University
System of Georgia's technological college and
baccalaureate university, CCSU is taking the
high-tech approach to reducing in-line time by
providing more services to students on-line.
Among the
student-friendly initiatives being undertaken for
the fall semester are on-line registration,
paying tuition and fees through the Internet,
on-line financial aid and scholarship procedures,
and ordering books on-line.
Students will be
able to complete their registration for classes
each semester by accessing the Digital University
Campus Kiosk (DUCK... http://duck.clayton.edu) on
the CCSU web page and using a personal access
personal identification number to select classes
in a secure environment.
Through a program
still under development, students will be able to
pay tuition and fees on-line. After students
complete on-line registration, they will be able
to request the amount owed and pay on-line. Fees
may be paid by Visa, MasterCard and American
Express. Implementation of this program is
scheduled for July 12.
After registration,
students will be able to find out how much
financial aid they have been awarded and how much
they owe CCSU through http://duck.clayton.edu.
Financial aid will be adjusted based on the
number of hours that remain at the end of the
drop/add period and students will not have to go
to the bursar's Office if they do not owe a
balance.
In August, the CCSU
Campus Store will introduce a new web site that
will provide students with up-to-date textbook
information, a catalog of CCSU merchandise and
the ability to place orders for books and
merchandise on-line.
Clayton College
& State University, a member institution of
the University System of Georgia and the third
public University in the nation to equip all of
its students and faculty with notebook computers,
is in Morrow in south metro Atlanta.
