The dates have been set for the 1999 Atlanta Buckarama.

Aug. 5 - 8, the tradeshow full of equipment, seminars, and contests takes over the Atlanta Expo Center. This year's show boasts an appearance by Milo Hanson, the man who harvested the world record white tailed deer. People who attend Buckarama not only get to meet Hanson, but they can see the full body mount of the record sized deer.

Buckarama has the best deals in America on hunting equipment, as well as contests with great prizes. The Georgia Wildlife Federation is sponsoring a free deer head contest. Enter your deer head between 1 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6 p.m. Aug. 7 for a chance to win a St. Louis Hawken .50 caliber rifle by CVA.

The deer heads will be on display until the winner is announced Aug. 8. Thre will also be door prizes, including hunting trips with Joe Kelly and Doug Rithmire, tree stands, hunting equipment and more.

During all four days of the expo, the best kept secrets of deer hunters will be told in educational seminars. Joe Kelly will offer instruction on hunting trophy whitetail deer, while Ben Kirkland offers a seminar on birds of prey. There will be professional black powder hunters making presentations as well.

Milo Hanson will offer seminars on how he captured his record setting buck.

There will also be shows during the four day hunting extravaganza. Retrievers in Action will put on its amazing and crowd pleasing dog show, and the Parks of Chehaw will have a wild animal display.

The wild animal display will house birds of prey, as well as many other species typical to the region.

Buckarama will be open 1-9 p.m Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 6 to 12. Children under 6 will be admitted free.
