Planning commission meets Monday night with full agenda

The Peachtree City Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting Monday night.

A public hearing is scheduled concerning a proposed rezoning of the Hyde/Palmer property on Old Stagecoach Road. The request was tabled at the last meeting.

New agenda items include landscape plans for the Cooper Lighting parking expansion and a pair of new restaurants — On the Border and Chili's, both located at the northwest corner of Ga. Highways 54 and 74.

Also on the agenda are a conceptual site plan for Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Robinson Road, and a revised conceptual site plan and overall landscape plan for Kedron Village/Georgian Park commercial outparcels.

City staff is busy with the various stages of a variety of other projects as well:

ä Final site plans have been approved for the following developments: Sherwin Williams on Ga. Highway 74 North, Cooper Lighting parking expansion at Hwy. 74 and Cooper Circle, and the McIntosh High School practice field.

ä The final site plan for the Gilbert Southern development on Dividend Drive is under review.

ä Staff has forwarded review comments to applicants and is expecting revised plans for the following developments: Flat Creek Crossing subdivision (Astoria Lane extension), Royal Highlands subdivision (Avalon Park), Kedron Office Park subdivision (Hwy. 74 and Peachtree Parkway), phase two of The Park industrial subdivision (Gardner Drive), and Holly Grove AME Church expansion (Holly Grove Church Road).

ä Landscape plans for Photocircuits parking expansion (810 Dividend Drive) are under review.

ä Staff is continuing to coordinate with the landscape contractor at the FAA TRACON facility on Hwy. 74 South.

ä Site improvements at the TDK exterior nitrogen tank (Hwy. 74 South) and the Siemens hazardous materials storage building (Westpark Drive) are under review.

ä No response has been received from the property manager for the NationsBank ATM at Peachtree Crossings. It is the staff's understanding that the matter is being resolved with input from the property owner. Staff is continuing to monitor the situation and plans to provide reports to the Planning Commission.

ä Staff has received the preliminary design for the Sumner Road improvements project.
