Opening this Weekend

Big Daddy — Adam Sandler hopes to make it five in a row with his new film about a man who adopts a kid to keep his girlfriend. His movies have improved as time has passed and this one looks very funny. Rated PG-13.

Now Playing

Austin Powers II: The Spy Who Shagged Me — Hysterically funny with bigger laughs than the first. It can be a little bawdy so don't just drop the kids at the film. Rated PG-13.

Entrapment — The world's oldest burglar and the world's sexiest cop play a deadly game of cat and mouse. If it weren't for the cast, this would be a USA movie starring Hulk Hogan. Rated PG-13.

The General's Daughter — John Travolta plays an investigator looking into the murder of... the general's daughter. Lots of suspense and drama — we just hope he sings “Greased Lightning.” Rated R.

Instinct — Anthony Hopkins plays a man who has lived with the silverback gorillas in Africa while studying them. He wigs out and it's up to Cuba Gooding Jr. to cure him Rated R.

Life — Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence star as two men wrongly imprisoned in the Mississippi State Correctional facility. Murphy has been on a pretty solid comeback of late and Lawrence deserves a chance to settle down into a non-annoying role. Rated R.

Love Letter — This is a cute date flick starring Tom Selleck and Kate Capshaw. A beautifully written love letter shows up in a small town, and hilarity results as numerous local characters jump to conclusions about who it's for, and who it's from. Rated PG-13.

The Matrix — The effects are great, it's a smart story and the acting is very good. It is violent and not meant for children. Rated R.

• The Mummy — A fun action adventure starring Brendan Fraser. The effects are nice and there are a few jumpy type suspenseful moments. Rated PG-13.

Notting Hill — Julia Roberts plays a world famous actress and Hugh Grant plays the charming owner of a charming bookstore. This is the date movie right now. Rated PG-13.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace — So, it's not the second coming. This is a great movie with effects that mess with your mind long after. It is a perfect beginning to the story and the performances are great. Rated PG.

Tarzan — Disney didn't make a lot of noise about this movie, but it makes as big a splash as the best of them. It has a good story, nice songs and incredible visuals. Rated G. Also Playing

Analyze This — Robert Deniro and Billy Crystal team up in this film about a mob boss requiring psychoanalysis. Rated R.

Doug's First Movie — The hit cartoon takes to the big screen and entertains and educates his way through 90 minutes. The voices have changed recently, but it still has a great sense of humor. Rated G.

Forces of Nature — A man finds true love away from his fiance'. Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock star. Rated PG-13.

My Favorite Martian — The hit tv show did not transfer to the screen that well. Kids just weren't as interested. now, you can see it for a dollar. That's cheaper than if you rent it. Rated PG.
