Some
things are worse than a few stolen TVs or VCR I read the article by Sallie Satterthwaite on Wednesday, June 9, re: MARTA or trains having crime. Crime does not consist only of TV and VCR stealing. Some things are worse than this. I ask all there to remember what Buckhead, Atlanta and College Park were! Some people visit Atlanta now and can't believe the immense changes, many not for the best. I am most familiar with the changes of College Park. This had been a genteel, Southern town with beautiful homes, refined people, very close-knit. If the police were not afraid to state the truth, they could tell you of the immense difference. I saw College Park go down, down, down. Look at it now. Compare it to what it was. There are probably other cities that experienced downgrading from cultural to almost savage. Consider the murder, strip clubs, drugs and carjackings, much less or nonexistent in the past. M.K.
