Christian rock concert 'The Coming Rain' set for Monday at F'ville's Grace Evangelical Church A rousing Christian rock concert, The Coming Rain, will be presented at Grace Evangelical Church on Monday, June 21 beginning at 7 p.m. With musicians from all over the world, as well as local talent, the concert is expected to attract a wide audience in the Southern Crescent area. We hope to attract many teens, says Cathy Hicks, publicist for Grace Evangelical, but we want adults to come too. Heading up the project is Chris Hale, the son of medical missionaries who grew up in Nepal, India, graduated from Berklee School of Music in Boston, and studied sitar in Lucknow, India. Hale plays guitar and sitar and led a popular rock band in India. Eric Abney from Sharpsburg, is currently the children's pastor at Trinity Fellowship Assembly of God. Anbey graduated from East Coweta High School in 1997 and plays keyboard. Playing guitar is Peter Hicks, a 1997 graduate of Landmark Christian School. Hicks has traveled as a musician in India and Turkey. Bass guitarist Travis McAfee is currently a senior at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone. Scott Matthies is a drummer from Vancouver, B.C. who studied tabla in India. This group has a passion to worship Jesus and make Him known, Hicks, said. We invite all the young at heart from all denominations to come and experience God's presence and the fullness of His joy. Grace Evangelical is on Flat Creek Trail between Fayetteville and Peachtree City. For more information, call 770-487-0791.
