Peachtree City bus
service underway, says
owner By DAVE HAMRICK

Business
is building slowly for a new bus
service from Peachtree City to Hartsfield
International Airport, owner Stuart Hoff said
this week.
Response
seems to be confirming what we originally
expected, that there would be a great deal of
interest in such a service, said Hoff,
president of Phoenix Star Transportation Service.
The
company offers rides to the airport from 4:15
a.m. to 8 p.m. week days.
It
has been slow getting started, Hoff said, because
of communication problems and bureaucratic
hurdles.
We
finally got clearance from security at the
airport so we could get access to the areas we
need to go, he said this week.
He
also is working to get word out that the service
is not just for airport employees, though they
have been the focus of most of the firm's
marketing efforts.
A
lot of people have the feeling that it's
restricted to Delta and not open to everybody,
and that's not true, he said.
Tickets
are available at several local stores, with new
ones being periodically added, said Hoff. Phone
678-364-1155 for ticket information.
Hoff
said his next project will be to establish
shuttle service to several Peachtree City
industries. I've had calls from some of the
corporations in town, he said, and
I'm working on that now.
That's
a way we can break up a lot of the traffic on
[Ga. highways] 54 and 74, he said.
Companies
can set up a payroll deduction, which provides
tax advantages to their employees using such a
service, he said.
