No restaurant deal for Falcon Field

By MONROE ROARK

Staff Writer

It's back to square one for officials who want to see a restaurant built and operated at Falcon Field.

The potential operators of the restaurant have pulled out of the project, airport manager Jim Savage told the Airport Authority at its regular meeting recently.

Savage said that a representative of Winsock Ltd. had told him that his partner was having to pull out, so he would have to do the same. This would leave no one to operate the facility after its construction.

Bids for construction had been received, from PRAD Construction and Group VI Corporation. Both of those bids were approaching the end of a 120-day window, Savage said, and at least 60 more days would be needed for either Winsock or someone else to become a serious participant.

Authority chairman Patterson recommended that the matter be tabled indefinitely, and his motion carried.
