Lake Peachtree meets the state's water quality standards for recreational activities, according to a statement released Thursday by the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority. The announcement comes exactly one week after an accidental spill released about 20,000 gallons of sewage into the lake. Firefighters discovered the problem the afternoon of June 3 after a heavy rainstorm. Tests conducted Tuesday show that the lake is now suitable for water skiing, boating, swimming and fishing, said the Authority, which will continue testing for an extended period of time.
