DOT approves more paving

Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Wayne Shackleford is shaping up more streets in Coweta County.

The commissioner recently approved preparations of a contract covering 18.6 miles of resurfacing work on 20 roads.

“I am proud that through our working relationship with local and state officials representing Coweta County, we can help another community meet its transportation needs,” said Shackleford. “The road resurfacing will maintain the mobility of Coweta County's residents.”

Roads covered under the contract in eastern Coweta County include:

ä Chestlehurst Road from Ga. Highway 16 to the end of the road.

ä Lower Fayetteville Road from County Road 64 to the Newnan city limits.

ä Poplar Road from the Newnan city limits to Interstate 85.

ä Tranquil Road from County Road 76 to the end of the road.
