A Fairburn man received a 15-year prison sentence last week in Fayette Superior Court after pleading guilty to aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy. Jay Wade Valliere was charged in connection with an incident that occurred in July of 1997. The victim was under the age of 16. He received 15 years on each count, with the two sentences to run concurrently. In an unrelated case, Daryl Eugene Warren of Newnan was sentenced last week to three years in prison after pleading guilty May 17 on a variety of charges possession of tools for commission of a crime, criminal attempt to enter an auto, obstruction of an officer, prowling, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude, and failure to maintain his lane. He was spotted Jan. 28 attempting to break into a 1989 Toyota Tercel at Kenwood Plaza, then fled the scene on foot and in his car, which led to the seven total counts. The obstruction charge was a misdemeanor. Warren received three years for the first count, two years for the second, and 12 months for each of the others all to run concurrently. Mitchell G. Williamson of Jefferson pled guilty last week to six counts Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (possession of Butalbital), driving while a habitual violator, failure to maintain his lane, open container, and driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a traffic stop last June. William Gregory Kirby was charged Friday with obstruction of an officer, criminal trespass, and two counts of simple battery. He allegedly entered the Fayette County Sheriff's Department offices on Johnson Road in Fayetteville last November after being forbidden to do so by the Sheriff's Department. He also allegedly hit one man and broke another's watch before resisting arrest.
