The Photocircuits Action Committee appointed by the mayor is continuing to meet, albeit on a semi-regular basis, to cover issues of importance both to the company and to residents of nearby Planterra Ridge subdivision. The group met officially for about 20 minutes May 24, according to Mark Bunker of Photocircuits, and the primary topic was the recent independent audit of the Photocircuits facility. There were a few recommendations made by the auditor, Bunker said, some of which probably will be implemented soon and some that will require further clarification. The auditor recommended the installation of external chlorine detectors at the facility, to better detect leaks from outside sources. All of the current chlorine detectors are indoors. A wind direction-speed indicator system also was suggested, which would help emergency personnel better direct its efforts by identifying the path of any contamination, Bunker said. The next meeting of the committee is scheduled Monday, June 21. Photocircuits' request to reduce the required distance between its building and Dividend Drive is set for the City Council agenda at the June 17 meeting, after the conceptual site plan was approved by the Planning Commission May 10. One of the conditions of that approval was the determination that the stream along the northern property line could not be classified as a waterway. Bunker said that it definitely is not a waterway and will thus not affect the site plan.
