Police blotter
  • A joy ride on a golf cart ended with drug charges for four Peachtree City teenagers last week.
  • According to reports, charges of possession of marijuana (less than one ounce) were made against Travis T. Raftin, 19; Dekoya S. Whatley, 17; Kristen T. Parrott, 17; and a 15-year-old whose name was not released because of juvenile status.
  • An anonymous tip concerning drug distribution in the area led to the May 25 arrest, according to a spokesman for the Peachtree City Police Department. The cart was seen with its occupants acting suspiciously and was stopped by a Criminal Investigation Division unit.
  • A Newnan man was arrested May 24 and charged with using false information to obtain a driver's license.
  • Benjamin Contreras, 19, attempted to use a fraudulent Immigration and Naturalization Service card at the State Patrol station at Kroger in Braelinn Village, according to reports.
  • Three teenagers already facing charges for graffiti damage in unincorporated Fayette County also are being charged for their alleged work in Peachtree City.
  • The defendants are: Steven Kubon, 17, Peachtree City; Nicholas Marrs, 18, of Tyrone; and Justin Merrell, 18, of Fayetteville. They have received 11 charges apiece for graffiti damage done throughout the city over the past several months.
  • A May 26 traffic stop led to a drug arrest of the passenger in the vehicle.
  • Richard Wayne Robinson, 35, of Arnco was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
  • The car's driver, 35-year-old Todd L. Mitchell of Newnan, was charged with driving without a license, no insurance and a seatbelt violation.
  • Officers received information May 30 from Fayette Community Hospital that a juvenile had been admitted to the emergency room for alcohol-related complications. The ensuing investigation led to four juveniles being charged with minor in possession of alcohol, two of whom also were charged with curfew violation and one for loitering.
  • Kenneth L. Dilliard, 30, of Riverdale was arrested May 25 and charged with driving on a suspended license and speeding.
  • Daniel P. Hall, 35, of Jonesboro was arrested May 25 and charged with habitual violator, driving under the influence and open container.
  • Justin T. Belill, 19, of Peachtree City was arrested May 26 and charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
  • Michael W. Johnson, 20, of Avalon was arrested May 26 and charged with no insurance and failure to exhibit license.
  • Rahmon T. Rose, 24, of Marietta was arrested May 27 and charged with driving without a license.
  • Anselmo Soto-Mercado, 25, of Grand Rapids, Mich., was arrested May 27 and charged with no license.
  • oseph Edward Reaves, 36, of Peachtree City was arrested May 31 and charged with cruelty to children after officers responded to a family violence incident.
  • Patrick Azell, 41, of Newnan was arrested May 29 for probation violation on an outstanding warrant issued out of Fulton County.
  • Erick Price, 19, of Peachtree City was arrested May 26 and charged with theft of services, after he ordered a large quantity of pizza and, upon delivery, took the pizzas and closed the door to his residence without paying the driver, police said.
  • Kellie Baswell, 26, of Fairburn was arrested May 31 and charged with contempt of court.
  • Andrew Scott McEwan, 19, of Peachtree City was arrested May 31 and charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
  • ä Katherine Rowan Carlson, 21, of Charlottesville, Va., was arrested May 28 and charged with DUI and open container.
  • Gary Eugene Wright, 40, of Byron was arrested May 28 and charged with driving while his license was suspended, no proof of insurance, and an expired tag.
  • Benny Jerome Hermanson Jr., 20, of Tyrone was arrested May 28 and charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
  • Ryan Vincent McDaniel, 25, of Sharpsburg was arrested May 30 and charged with driving while his license was suspended, no proof of insurance, and speeding.
  • Mandel Gyawu Maiiama, 17, of Peachtree City was arrested May 29 and charged with possession of marijuana (less than one ounce) and loitering.
  • John Psomiadis, 42, of Atlanta was arrested May 24 and charged with simple battery and criminal trespass after he allegedly assaulted a coworker.
  • A Peachtree City juvenile was taken into custody May 30 and charged with curfew violation before being released to the custody of his parents.
  • A juvenile was charged May 30 with criminal trespass for breaking a vehicle window with a rock.
  • Two Peachtree City juveniles were charged May 30 with minor in possession of alcohol.
  • The following incidents are currently under investigation:
  • Criminal damage to a vehicle parked at AMLI apartments.
  • Theft of money from a purse in a room at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center.
  • A hit-and-run involving a burgundy Ford Escort which was struck May 27 by an unknown vehicle while it was parked at Kroger on Crosstown Drive.
  • Theft of tools from a truck toolbox in a vehicle parked on Hanbury Lane.
  • Criminal trespass at a residence on Meadow Court, where a window screen was cut and a window cracked.
