Drama camp still has opening

Registration is still open for the Peachtree City Drama Camp, which will run June 14 - 25 at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater and the Peachtree City Recreation Department.

Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and will offer instruction and techniques of improvisational comedy, performance of poetry, monologues, makeup/costume and stage skills. Thor Hanes, drama instructor, and student assistants in the drama field will be teaching these performing skills. The participants will give two performances as part of the camp schedule.

The camp is open to middle school and high school students who demonstrate a desire to learn dramatic technique and production.

Campers must be prepared to work diligently and have a lot of fun. Cost is $150, which includes a field trip and transportation to Atlanta, a t-shirt and snacks. Campers must provide their own sack lunches.

Registration is open until June 11. Forms are available from Fayette County middle school and high school fine art teachers, as well as at the Peachtree City Recreation Department, the Kedron Fieldhouse/Aquatic Center and the Peachtree City Library. Enrollment is limited to 50 students and a minimum of 25 students is needed.ized.
