Fun run keeps kids healthy and happy

About 200 children 5-12 participated in the annual Peachtree City Kids Fun Run recently at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City.

In addition to the fun run, there was a tot trot for children under 5. According to Teri Besch, the race director, the free one-mile run is sponsored by the Peachtree City Running Club to encourage youth fitness. All of the participants received ribbons, ice cream donated by Edy's Ice Cream and A&P, and freezer pops.

The following children were the first place finishers in their age groups: David Liou and Rachel Skaggs in the age 5 group, Dillan Rossen and Katie Gingher in the age 6 group, David Fratto and Shannon Phillips in the age 7 group. Kevin King and Vince Brown tied in the 8-year-old boys group, while Kirsten Pretzere won in the 8-year-old girl group.
