Eight Fayetteville streets will be resurfaced soon under a contract between the city and the Georgia Department of Transportation. The contract calls for 3.13 miles of resurfacing on the six streets. Funding for the projects comes from Georgia's Local Assistance Road Program, initiated in 1978 to help local governments with their paving needs. Each year all cities submit a LARP priority list, DOT reviews the list and decides which roads can be paved in that year's budget. Slated for repaving this year are:
