Kouns to coach college;
3 Lady Tigers sign letters

Chris Kouns, coach of the Fayette County Lady Tigers, will reportedly coach at Union College in New York in the fall.

Kouns had a record of 85-28-3 in his six-year stint at Fayette County High School.

The Lady Tigers were region champions in 1994 and 1996 and were region finalists in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 1999. Kouns also was voted the 1998 GACA All-Star coach.

There has been no word on a replacement for Kouns.

Two members of the Fayette County Lady Tigers and another student from Fayette County High School signed letters of intent to play soccer in college.

Senior Diana Chang, who has been named Most Valuable Player in Region 4-AAAA the past two years, signed with Princeton. Chang is a midfielder who scored 13 goals and recorded 10 assists this year.

Midfielder Amanda Wix signed a letter of intent to play for Jacksonville State.

Lauren Lindsay, who played her freshman and sophomore years for the Lady Tigers, signed with Gordon College.
