senior pastor at Trinity Fellowship After receiving over 40 resumes for its vacant senior pastor position, Trinity Fellowship has invited the Rev. Mark Anthony, senior pastor of Glad Tidings in Toccoa, for consideration as its senior pastor. For the first time in the 20-year history of the church, a senior pastor was unanimously elected. "Ironically, the Rev. Anthony had not applied nor sent a resume to Trinity," a spokesperson said. "Rather, he had been recommended by three different pastors on three different occasions, all within about a week's time. Members of Trinity's pulpit committee visited the Rev. Anthony's church on several occasions and asked him to pray about the position and consider applying." Anthony stated that it was an extremely tough decision. "I love my church and congregation at Glad Tidings. Yet, after much prayer, I feel that this is God's leading." Anthony preached both services at Trinity Fellowship Sunday, May 16, with an official church business meeting following. At the business meeting, he was unanimously elected. Anthony stated that he felt the 100 percent unanimity was further confirmation that this was God's will. "I'm very excited about my new position and look forward to being part of God's plan for Trinity," he said. His first service at Trinity will be Father's Day, June 20. Anthony, 31, is a graduate of Southeastern College and has been senior pastor at Glad Tidings for the past six years. He and his wife Julie have an infant son, Caleb. Trinity Fellowship is at the intersection of Ga. highways 34 and 54 just west of the Peachtree City city limits. |
