Applications being taken for exploratory preschool

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Applications are now being accepted for an exploratory preschool class to be administered by the Fayette County School System for the 1999-2000 academic year.

The program is designed for 4-year-olds and will be at Fayetteville Elementary-Primary and Peeples Elementary.

Features of the four-hour daily program include a curriculum rich in opportunities for children to learn, play and socialize with children with diverse backgrounds, including interactions with children with disabilities, a caring knowledgeable staff who are experienced and certified in preschool or early education, and educational sessions for parents.

To apply or for information, phone Verna at 770-460-3990 ext. 165.

Children will receive a developmental screening June 8 at Peeples Elementary School. Parents will be notified of their child's acceptance into the program no later than June 16. If more children apply, there will be a lottery. These are locally funded classes and participation in them is not mandatory. Continuation of the classes will be contingent upon adequate funding.
