Fayette Community Hospital invites the community to join in its fund-raising celebration for the 1999 Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Proceeds from the activities leading up to, and those included in the 16-hour event benefit the research, education and patient programs of the ACS. The festivities will begin tonight at 8 p.m. at Sandy Creek High School. Local cancer survivors will start the evening with a victory lap around the track. After dark, a special luminary ceremony will be conducted in memory of those who have lost their battle with cancer, and in honor of those who are still fighting. As team members take turns walking around the track, participants and guests can enjoy fun-filled activities such as volleyball, face-painting, bake sales, dancing and mingling with the familiar faces from the community. The event, which lasts through the night with team members camping on site, will conclude Saturday at noon. For information, or to make a donation, phone the FCH Auxiliary office at 770-719-7098.
