A number of important topics are scheduled to be discussed Saturday at the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority's annual retreat at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, but possible sewer service to Senoia is not one of them. Since Senoia asked last month to talk with Peachtree City about purchasing sewer, WASA Director Larry Turner has informed the City Council and been directed to discuss the matter with Senoia, but the parties have not been able to get together yet. "We're trying to schedule a meeting and discuss it," said Turner. "We haven't really gotten the time to sit down and discuss it in more detail. We've got a couple of dates picked out. I'm waiting on them to get back to me and tell me which day." Turner said he believes such discussions are a bit "premature" while larger issues such as overall facilities plans are being worked out. Recommendations on treatment plant expansion and other items are being looked over by the state and will be discussed at the retreat, which will last all day Saturday, with a special called meeting set for 1 p.m. The board plans to go over final recommendations on the facilities plan and a plan for solids disposal. The group is looking at what is expected to be necessary "until the buildout of Peachtree City," said Turner. As for the called meeting, the board will be considering the watershed assessment and whether to include Camp Creek, which was undecided at the end of the last meeting. Turner said he is waiting for some information and will have a final recommendation on that by Saturday. Also on the agenda for the meeting is the possible purchase of some sewer television equipment. The remainder of the meeting will consist of such things as midyear financial reports and other such summaries. There will be no June meeting for the board, which traditionally meets first Mondays.
