Fayette County officials will break ground today for a $12.3 million water treatment plant at 880 Antioch Road. When completed, the plant will provide six million gallons of water per day, and can be expanded to nine mgd. Officials will gather at 2:30 p.m. at the plant's subdivision style entrance, which already has been completed. Construction by Bates Engineers Inc. is expected to take approximately two years. The plant will primarily draw water from nearby Lake Horton. Its completion will expand the county's water production capacity to about 20 mgd.
