Thank you for running the editorial by Michael S. Berliner in the April 23 edition. From my perspective, this is the most important issue today; more important than the fact that China has nukes aimed at us; more important than the fact that Russia, China and India are negotiating a pact to form a troika to "stand up" to the United States; more important than the fact that North Korea has, active and reserve, almost 6 million soldiers and plenty of SAM's; more important than China's recent gain in missile technology; and even more important, (I know this is hard to believe), than Clinton's sexual peccadillos. We, as a nation can cope and deal with these if we are united. However, by the time the environmental nut cases get through with us, our quality of life will be diminished severely and because of the "dumbing down" of America and a spineless Congress who can't or won't recognize pseudoscience because it might rupture the boundaries of political correctness, the lies and absurdity will continue to march boldly onward. I fear for the future of my grandchildren's adult and senior years. C. Monroe Payne
