Peachtree City residents get their annual opportunity this weekend to enlist the city's help in getting rid of unused items and generally tidying up around the house. The city is holding its annual Spring Clean-Up this Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2. Dumpsters will be available between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days at the Peachtree City Recycling Center, located at the corner of Highway 54 and Rockaway Road. Once the dumpsters are full, no more items will be accepted. This year the city has arranged to accept old appliances, with the exception of freon-using equipment such as refrigerators, freezers and air-conditioning units. A Goodwill truck will also be on hand accepting usuable items such as antiques, bicycles, books, clocks, clothing, dishes, furniture, jewelry, lamps, radios, records and tapes, shoes and sporting goods. Residents will not be permitted to dump household garbage, tires or batteries at the Recycling Center.
