Camps to keep the kids busy

There are a plethora of sport camps to keep your kids active this summer. Clayton College and State University is offering week long sport camps from the second week of June until the third week of July. The camps will be for boys and girls basketball, tennis, soccer and speed. The coaches from Clayton State will be conducting the camps of their respective sports. Call the Department of Athletics at 770-961-3450 for information about the camp that you are interested in.

The Wendell Coffee Golf Center in Tyrone is offering Junior Golf Camps for children ages 6-17, every week from June 7 - Aug. 26. The tuition of the camp is $175 per week. To sign your children up stop by the golf Center or call 770-969-4469. Sean Coffee, a PGA Apprentice, will be the head instructor at the camp.

Fayetteville will host the Higher Ground Softball camps June 21-24 at McCurry Park in Fayetteville. Fast pitch pitching and catching camps will be offered on June 21 and 22 and fast and slow pitch hitting camps will be offered on June 23 and 24. Final registration is now open for the TenStar All Star basketball Camp. Boys and Girls ages 10-18 are eligible. Players are selected by invitation only. College Basketball scholarships are possible for the most advanced players. For an evaluation form call 704-372-8610 anytime.
