McIntosh takes two from Fayette County, again

The McIntosh boys played host to Fayette County on Friday night for the regional championship. Regardless of who won, both teams would go to the state playoffs beginning this Tuesday. The Chiefs and the Tigers battled it out, giving strong offensive and defensive performances, neither team scoring until the second overtime. It was with five minutes to go in the second overtime, that McIntosh finally put the ball in the net.

The following minutes were crammed with chaos as Fayette County attempted to tie the game. Trevor Bowman tried one of his patented throw in's, which was dead on, but the Tigers simply could not capitalize. The Chiefs outshot the Tigers 19-11. Fayette County will travel to Lakeside-Evans on Tuesday to begin the Sweeet Sixteen of the state soccer playoffs, while the Chiefs will host ---- on Tuesday night.

The Lady Chiefs handed Fayette County's Lady Tigers another loss on Friday night, giving both McIntosh's boys and girls soccer teams the regional title. The Chefs struck first, scoring three goals in the first half. Freshman Dana Van Winkle had two of the three goals for the Lady Chiefs. The speed of McIntosh continued to beat the Lady Tigers in the second half, as they cruised to a 5-0 win. McIntosh will host -----and Fayette County will travel to----- on Tuesday night.
