Ground breaking for a new 30,000-sq. ft. church home for the Church of Christ of Fayette County will be today, April 25, at 1 p.m. at the church building site on Redwine Road between Ramah and Price roads in Fayetteville.

Cobb and Associates architects are designing the sanctuary, educational wing and fellowship hall. A split level two-story/three-story building is planned, with a 650-seat sanctuary, including a 250-seat balcony.

The church vacated its former home at Ga. Highway 85 and Pine Trail Road, selling the site to developers of a Barnes and Noble shopping center.
