With ideal weather predicted for this weekend, organizers are hoping a big crowd heads to Sharpsburg this weekend for the town's spring festival.

The festival is in its 15th year, and according to Sharon Bernocco, who helps organize the celebration, it keeps getting better and better.

The festival runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and features a variety of activities for young and old.

"There's going to be food, antiques, arts and crafts and clogging," said Bernocco.

For the kids, Sandy Hill Farms is offering a petting zoo and games will be set up for children to play while their parents enjoy some of the exhibits.

On Sunday at 9 a.m., Dr. Watson Mills of Sharpsburg Baptist will lead a community wide worship service that kicks off the final day of the festival.

One of the big hits at the festival in the last three years has been a tree-climbing demonstration. The tree climbers are back this year and will show the children how to scale on of the town's majestic 100-year old oak trees.

Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church is fixing barbecue and Bernocco said there will be plenty of dining options for the hungry visitor.

Parking and admission to the festival is free and Bernocco urges residents to take the short drive and experience the magic of one of the county's small town treasures.
