I am a volunteer with the Fayette County Humane Society (not connected with Fayette County Animal Shelter), and a true animal lover.

Springtime is upon us and so are the hundred and hundreds of unwanted kitten and puppy litters. The situation is overwhelming!

People need to be reminded that assistance is available to spay or neuter their pets by calling their local humane society or SPAY-USA at 1-800-248-SPAY.

They also need to remember to check local shelters and humane societies before purchasing a pet. There are some great ones!
