Virginia fugitive nabbed in Peachtree City

A man wanted in Virginia was arrested in Peachtree City last week after a tip from authorities there led local police to his location.

Law enforcement officials in Dinnwood County, Virginia, contacted police in Peachtree City and informed them that Timothy Lambert, 40, had an outstanding warrant for transporting of a hazardous material.

The Virginia police said that they knew where Lambert was living and would extradite him if he were apprehended.

Local police went to the house April 2 and arrested Lambert, who was placed in Fayette County Jail pending extradition.

A Peachtree City resident was arrested earlier this week and charged with stealing from his own place of employment.

Police Monday arrested Robert Eley, 27, of Peachtree City for theft by taking after he confessed to stealing money from the Four Star Chevron, where he worked. Eley was spotted by the store's video camera coming in early one morning when he was not scheduled to work, and when questioned about it, he confessed.

An Atlanta man was arrested March 29 and charged with forgery. Galicia Hernandez, 26, attempted to apply for a driver's license at the Kroger in Peachtree City and used a forged alien ID card for identification, according to reports. Police are unaware if Hernandez is in the United States legally or if the Immigration and Naturalization Service plans to take any action.

Several cases are currently under investigation by the Peachtree City Police, including a hit-and-run that took place April 2 at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Stevens Entry. A tan Honda driven by a young white male struck another vehicle and left the scene, according to reports.

Two incidents on Fall Side Court are being investigated. A split rail fence was damaged at a residence on that street on April 3, and several items were stolen from a vehicle just across the road.

A vehicle parked at 100 Wisdom Woods was broken into on April 1, and a cellular phone was stolen.

Two separate thefts took place March 30 and are under investigation.

Several electronic items were removed from a residence in Planterra Ridge, and a box of jackets was taken from the gift shop at the Wyndham Conference Center.
