FCHS Variety Show

The Fayette County High School Select Chorus' annual variety show, entitled "And The Winner Is..." will be presented April 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. at F.A. Sams Auditorium. The show, directed by Janice Folsom, will combine song and dance, current pop hits and golden oldies. The production is divided into several segments, covering sports, love, a beauty pageant and a dance marathon. The gambling segment features the Broadway hit tune "Luck Be A Lady." Additional musical favorites include "The Way You Look Tonight," "Love Potion #9," "Heat Wave" and "Dancing Queen."

The Select Chorus is an award-winning auditioned group of FCHS juniors and seniors directed by Folsom, who is the school's choral director and fine arts department chairman. They have appeared at Shorter College for the "Feaste of Caroles," and just recently performed at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. In February, the chorus received a superior rating in the "Large Group Choral Festival," sponsored by the Georgia Music Education Association.

The variety show is company developed and months of preparation by the students go into the production. From costumes to props, set design to makeup, and publicity to ticket sales, students take an active part. The school's art department also contributes to the show by providing a logo and backdrop design.

Tickets for the show are $5 for students and $6 for adults in advance and $7 the night of the performance. Advance tickets can purchased from any Select Chorus member or by calling 770-460-3540.
