The 7/8 Fayette County Braves baseball team recently won the Sharpsburg preseason baseball tournament. The Braves were undefeated (4-0) in the tournament and beat teams from Sharpsburg, Fayette County and Jonesboro. The Braves outscored their opponents 33-15 over the four games. Strong pitching performances were turned in by Collin Mallon, Michael Herget, and Kyle Hirschfield.Team members include Daniel Mallon, Collin Mallon, Chris Nowicki,Kyle Hirschfield, Ryan Goelz, David Norman, Michael Herget, Miles Head, Christopher Sims, Austen Wiley, Kyle Peterson and Mason Miller. The Braves manager is Greg Hirschfield and coaches are Jon Nowicki, Mike Mallon, Steve Goelz and Dave Norman.
