PTC boy swims for records

Some people just take to water and are perfectly happy swimming almost everyday. Kyle Flora is like that. He is a seventh grader at Landmark Christian School and was just awarded the Most Valuable Middle School Boys Swimmer for the 1999 season. Kyle broke eight individual event records this year: the 50 free, the 100 free, the 200 free, the 500 free, the 100 back, the 100 breast, the 100 fly and the 200 IM.

Kyle is a member of S.C.A.T., the Southern Crescent Aquatic Team, swimming year round in competitions against the top youth prospects in the nation.Kyle works as hard as possible and usually crawls out of the swimming pool when practice is over. "I just have stick-to-it-iveness," says Kyle. "I never give up."

"It's really great exercise and I've made a lot of friends," says Kyle, when describing why he enjoys swimming. He even says that breaking all those records was easy. "I would just tell myself that I was going to break another record tonight and I would." Kyle went undefeated this season and hopes to do the same in the years to come.
