A Fayetteville couple acting as foster parents for two Clayton County children faces multiple charges resulting from their alleged treatment of the children, according to Lt. Mahlon Donald of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

Kenneth Blair is charged with one count of aggravated child molestation and one county of aggravated sexual battery, Donald said. His wife, Sheila Blair, is charged with one count of cruelty to children. Sheila Blair was arrested at the couple's home at 150 Downeybrook Lane, Fayetteville, and the husband at the Fayette Sheriff's Department, Donald said, both on March 17.

Paula Fish, director of the Fayette County Department of Family and Children's Services, says the two very young foster children have been removed from the Blair home and are "safe and protected." While direct supervision of the children rests with Clayton County DFCS, she said, "it is a standard DFCS policy to relocate the children whenever there is a question."

Fish said that the situation "is in the hands of law enforcement, as it should be." Both suspects are out on bond, Donald said.
