Governor Roy Barnes introduced the Georgia On-Line Automated License Sales(GOALS) system recently. The system is for license dealers throughout the state to generate a printed license on the spot for any hunting or fishing activity. The benefits of this system include reduced time to purchase a license, no shortages of licenses the day that a specific season opens and the the Wildlife Resources Division will have much better fish and wildlife management information by being able to track hunter and angler numbers and harvest rates. The system will begin in mid-March and license fees will not be raised to pay for the new system.
